WHAT IS A HEAD TABLE?

At the wedding reception the head table is where the bride and groom sit. The bride and groom are seated in the middle of a long table joined by their bridal party only. Everyone sits on one side of the table, facing out towards the reception.

A head table is made up of tables, chairs, pipe with a draped backdrop and a stage. (If the venue has a high roof)

HOW MANY PEOPLE FIT AT A HEAD TABLE?

When we are deciding how many people fit at a head table we stick to the basics. 3 people fit on one side of a 6' table and 4 people fit on one side of an 8' table. So now you divide your head table count into 6' tables or 8' tables. The picture shows 4 people at each 8' table to make a total of 12 people seated. The general rule is that a backdrop should go 2' beyond where the head table ends on either side.
